Future Fit Forum Edition #6, Presented by Hyosung CREORA®, Makes Appearance at Kingpins NYC

A major highlight at the Kingpins shows is its Future Fit Forum, which Hyosung is proud to be a sponsor. The project has been running for six seasons and participated Kingpins Amsterdam, New York and China trade shows. It has involved different talented creatives to upcycle and reuse old iconic 501’s potentially saved from landfills mixed with modern denim fabrics made with Hyosung’s Creora bio-based fiber and different denim weaver
The curator of Future Fit Forum is Michelle Branch, a US expert denim insider running her own consulting creative agency, Markt &Twigs.
“In many ways the denim community is leading in the movement towards a better future; making huge strides in ingredient & finish developments,” said Branch. “But it’s going to take all hands on deck working together to reach our collective goal. Whether it’s Zero waste patterns, multi-purpose garments, re-purposing, or flexible sizing, fit is a key component to this formula for the future. This is how Future Fit Forum was born.”
According to Branch, Future Fit Forum is not about trend. It’s a deep dive into the role of denim fit in creating a more responsible future. It is a curated exhibit following denim’s tradition of combining the old with the new to create blue magic…
“The idea is to provide talented diverse creatives with iconic Levi’s 501’s potentially saved from landfills + modern denim fabric made with Hyosung’s Creora® bio-based fiber to use as raw material for creating their vision of fit in the future…with no limits!,” said Branch. “Our creatives have freedom to express their vision. It is an opportunity to tap into pure creativity with no line plan restrictions or need to beat LY numbers.”
And Future Fabric Fit is about building community. It shares these creations with the global denim community in The Boxes at the Kingpins Show.
“The goal is to build an archive of this collective vision for the future to inspire and spark a conversation on how fit can contribute to the conversation!”, said Branch.
The very talented industry creatives in the Future Fit Forum edition 6 include: Anna Weber, Margaret Sam, Natashia Lutz, Piero Turk, Adam Taubenfligel, Nikita Raman, Luna Goossens. Their innovative creations can be viewed in the video taken at The Boxes during Kingpins Amsterdam last April.
The Future Fit Forum edition 7 will debut this fall during the Kingpins Amsterdam October show. We look forward to sharing more news about the program and the creatives then!
