100% recycled polyester made from discarded PET bottles from Jeju island

Launched April 2020, our regen® Jeju is 100% recycled polyester made from the discarded transparent PET bottles from Jeju island, a UNESCO World Heritage site. In a mission to transform the growing amount of plastic waste polluting the beautiful shores of the island, which draws millions to its beautiful habitat each year, the Ministry of Environment (MOE), Hyosung, Jeju Provincial Government, and a startup Korean-based fashion brand named Pleats Mama, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on April 13, 2020, for the ‘Return to be Reborn Project’ and set out to establish a new resource circulation system. 

In January 2021, Hyosung formed an agreement with Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, Jeju Samdasoo (Jeju Development Corporation), and The North Face (TNF) Korea to create an eco-friendly initiative that aims at recycling up to 100 tons of transparent PET bottles from Jeju Island by the third quarter of 2021.
