We are very happy to shine our Team Member Spotlight on Hee Kim! For those of you who have had the the good fortune to meet with Hee – whether it be in person, over Zoom/Teams, or a phone call, we can bet you have experienced her warmth and candid nature. Hee is an integral member of Hyosung TNC’s global marketing team in charge of our ready to wear business and German retailers, while also providing information about our company values, strength, and growth through creora® spandex product.
How did you get your start the textile industry?
In Korea, when babies celebrate their first birthdays, we put items such as yarn, books, pens, and money in front of them to see which item they choose. It’s a traditional ceremony to predicts a child’s life journey. When I was a first year baby, I picked yarn. Holding yarn means living a long and healthy life, but I think it was also a sign that I was to be involved in the textile industry!
What led you to Hyosung?
Gravity and destiny led me to Hyosung. I am blessed to have landed in such a place to make my dreams come true.
What do you like best about your role at Hyosung?
I am in a bridge position between junior and senior management, which allows me to share my knowledge and experience developed working with customers and co-workers, which I love. I am good communicator, I am direct and like to tell the truth. I try to be honest with myself and dealing with others, always working to enrich myself with wise ways. My communication skills have helped me with building trustworthy and enduring relationships with our customers, which is a favorite part of my job.
How do you think textile industry has changed over the last 2 to 3 years?
Sustainability has changed textile innovation for the good to help protect our earth. I am proud of the sustainable initiatives Hyosung has forged with its recycled, bio-based, and bio-degradable textiles, and its commitment to greenhouse gas reduction through continuous investment and improvement.
Do you have a favorite Hyosung fiber and if so, what is it?
It is definitely our creora® EasyFlex spandex. My favorite F word is Flex! I love to feel and express myself with goofball imagination. My wish is that all our current/future customers know about the value of creora® EasyFlex spandex – a happy product that allows you to really flex yourself.
Who/what inspires you and why?
Britney Spears – back in the 90’s she was my first rock star. I still remember One Angel and her dancing and singing performance. It’s a treasured childhood memory!
What do you enjoy doing on your time away from work?
I like to share my imagination. I draw using an iPad, and started posting my creations on Instagram. While I do not have many ‘hearts ‘ yet, I will keep creating and posting!! Also, I like to play golf.
Where is one place you’ve never been, but is high on your list to visit?
Hawaii. I love watching Disney animation and listening its music in movies like Moana. Through this animation, I find messages that nature must be kept as it is. I want to visit Hawaii and enjoy its beautiful nature – ocean, sunset, and all of the secrets of nature it beholds.
