Introducing Andreas Puchert, Hyosung European Marketing Manager – Textiles
We are excited to shine our Team Member Spotlight this month on Andreas Puchert!
For those of you who have not yet met Andreas, our European Marketing Manager who joined Hyosung TNC early this year, allow us to introduce you to him here!
Based in Düsseldorf, Germany, Andreas has over 30 years’ experience in the textile, sports, fashion, and retail markets, holding a degree in textile engineering. Prior to joining Hyosung, he was director of Retailpraxis, a company that develops, produces, and distributes international fashion and sportswear brands with a strong emphasis on sustainability. His previous experience includes executive positions at ellesse, Puma, and C&A.
Andreas works with the company’s European marketing team in the promotion of Hyosung’s specialty fibers and fabrics to targeted brand and retail accounts. Additionally, he manages joint development and promotional programs with key industry partners.
With an outgoing personality, love of life and people, not to mention a deep curiosity, Andreas is a joy to work with! We hope you have the chance to meet him at a forthcoming trade show or industry event. He’ll be joining us at Kingpins Amsterdam, the premier denim trade show, taking place at the SugarFactory this October 23-24. If attending, please stop by and say hello!
In the meantime, Andreas was kind to answer a few questions to help you get to know him a bit more.
How did you get your start the textile/garment industry?
I began my journey in the fashion industry at the age of 16 with a job at a major retail chain in Germany, where I developed a passion for working with people and fashion products.
You have broad experience across the value chain. Is there one aspect you prefer over another?
The fashion industry is an extremely fascinating field and fiber production is its foundation and the starting point of everything. The types of fibers used in clothing and textiles have a direct impact on everything from the tactile qualities and aesthetics of a garment to its sustainability and environmental footprint.
What/who led you to Hyosung?
A good friend of mine.
What do you like best about your role at the company?
Working in an international team with brands and retailers.
How do you think textile industry has changed over the last 2 to 3 years?
There is an increasing emphasis on sustainability, and effective marketing and social media strategies are becoming increasingly vital.
What do you think your brand customers are most concerned about?
Making the right choices and taking meaningful actions for sustained success in the years to come.
Has there been a memorable experience in your short time at the company so far that you would like to share?
I truly appreciated the warm welcome from all my national and international colleagues, as well as the exceptional training and support I received during my first weeks at Hyosung.
Who/what inspires you and why?
Individuals of strong character who are committed to making positive changes for the benefit of all.
What do you enjoy doing on your time away from work?
Spending time with my family, Music, Boxing, Classic Motorbikes
What are you looking forward to this coming year?
Visiting the headquarter in Korea, meeting the team.
Where is one place you’ve never been, but is high on your list to visit?
South America
For someone who has never been to Germany/Düsseldorf, what is a must for those to see/visit?
The famous “Fortuna Büdchen” at river Rhein.
