Hyosung Highlights Customized Textile Innovations at 2025 Summer Trade Shows

Innovation for a better tomorrow
June 20, 2025; Seoul, South Korea – Demonstrating its commitment to advanced material innovation and low-impact textile development across the value chain, Hyosung will present a diversified portfolio of certified sustainable materials and high-performance, multi-functional fibers at the forthcoming Future Fabrics Expo London, Functional Fabric Fair NYC, and Kingpins NYC this summer.
At Future Fabrics Expo London June 24-25 – From nature to performance fiber
Creating a more powerful sustainable story, Hyosung has expanded its offering of regen™ BIO Spandex by replacing nearly all the fiber’s raw materials previously made with petroleum-based resources with renewable resources regen™ BIO+ and regen™ BIO Max Spandex, which it will present at the Expo.
Hyosung was the first company to commercialize at scale USDA and SGS certified bio-based elastane partly made with renewable resources in 2022 and has since enjoyed many brand adoptions with the fiber to include blends with other bio-based materials such as wool, luxurious silk, lyocell, and organic cotton.
Last month, PANGAIA—a materials science innovator at the intersection of science, purpose, and design—launched its most advanced plant-based activewear yet: the 365 Seamless collection made with Hyosung’s regen™ BIO Max Spandex. Building on its 2022 debut of regen™ BIO Spandex in activewear, PANGAIA continues to lead in sustainable innovation. Backed by third-party verified data and independent Life Cycle Assessments, regen™ BIO Max Spandex delivers a 27% lower carbon footprint and 82% less ozone depletion than conventional spandex—marking a significant step toward circular, regenerative materials.
“The ongoing use of bio-based materials by such a pioneering brand demonstrates that the bio story resonates strongly with consumers,” said Simon Whitmarsh-Knight, Hyosung Global Sustainability Director – Textiles. “It is clear evidence that our product is growing within both the fashion industry and sustainability movement.”
Additionally, through its partnership with several material science companies, Hyosung will present circular polyester made from end-of-life textiles, further advancing its efforts to create a circular textile ecosystem.
At Functional Fabric Fair NYC July 22-23 – Functional textiles designed for an enhanced lifestyle
Continuously innovating, Hyosung anticipates what consumers expect from their performance apparel, which includes multi-functional characteristics to keep wearers cool, fresh and comfortable with style. In addition to Hyosung’s regen™ BIO Spandex range, materials with the following new performance fibers will be highlighted.
- CREORA® Rexy2 Nylon offers a luxurious gloss and soft texture, mimicking the sheen of rayon and silk achieved through diffuse reflection from the yarn’s special cross-section.
- CREORA® EasyFlex Dyeable Spandex provides a luxurious soft feel, maintains a long-lasting comfortable fit, and allows for size inclusivity where one size can fit various body types. New EasyFlex Dyeable Spandex reduces grin through, plus offers higher elongation with lower power and better retention rate for extra comfort.
To support product developers and designers in creating garments with their various performance and sustainable needs, Hyosung will showcase an extensive selection of fabrics and concept garments crafted with its innovative yarns, all designed by its Fashion Design Center team and featured prominently at its booth.
At Kingpins NYC, July 23-24 – Innovation for denim you want to live in
Hyosung will showcase several innovative stretch offerings for denim to include its expanded regen™ BIO Spandex offering comprised of new regen™ BIO + and regen™ BIO Max Spandex both made with a higher amount of renewable resource content. The company will also showcase its RCS-certified, 100% recycled regen™ Spandex made from industrial waste; CREORA® 3D Max Spandex that delivers excellent stretch and recovery with a very small portion of spandex content allowing the garment to be recycled*; and CREORA® Slip Free Spandex with improved seam slippage that reduces waste. *Source: The Jeans Redesign Project
“Sustainable strategies vary widely among brands – whether it is recycled, bio-based or recyclable, so it’s important to provide solutions to meet their individual needs,” said Simon Hong, Hyosung Global Denim Marketing Director.
In addition to presenting its new denim textile solutions at the show, Hyosung continues to sponsor and support the Kingpins Future Fit Forum. With the Kingpins team, it will decorate the Kingpins BOXES displayed with innovative garments made from Levi’s 501-iconic fit deadstock and denim made with Hyosung regen™ BIO Spandex. The company will also host the Future Fit Forum seminar taking place on the show stage.
