Hyosung TNC and Lenzing Launch New Sustainable Yoga Collection

Power of collaboration driving innovation through sustainable partnerships

November 4, 2025: Seoul South Korea – United by a shared vision for sustainable innovation, Hyosung TNC, the world’s largest manufacturer of spandex by market share, and Lenzing Group, a leading global producer of regenerated cellulosic fibers for the textile and nonwovens industries, have partnered to launch a yoga fabric collection that blends certified low-impact fibers [1] [2], performance designed for modern movement, and inspiration from nature [3].

The new collection will be presented at Functional Fabric Fair  (FFF) Portland, OR, November 12-13, where both Hyosung TNC and Lenzing will showcase a yoga inspired concept garment range designed by Hyosung TNCs Fashion Design Center, made with various blends of Lenzing’s TENCEL™ and LENZING™ ECOVERO™ made with REFIBRA™ technology and Hyosung TNC’s certified regen™ BIO Spandex partly made with renewable resources, 100% recycled regen Spandex, and CREORA® Color+ Spandex.

Through the technical expertise and fabric engineering of Hong Kong-based Pacific Textiles, a Hyosung TNC premium circular knit partner that specializes in sustainable fabric production, the knit suppliers were able to optimize the fabric structure and heat-setting process to ensure consistent stretch and a natural, soft-hand feel. This joint development maintains the signature smoothness of TENCEL™ fibers while achieving excellent stretch and recovery — resulting in a premium yoga and athleisure fabric that perfectly combines sustainability and performance.

“I truly believe that the future of performance textiles lies in collaborative innovation. Our partnership with Hyosung TNC beautifully illustrates this idea, exemplifying how material innovation and cross-industry collaboration can accelerate the transition to bio-based, traceable, and scalable alternatives—delivering on both technical excellence and environmental responsibility,” said Nicole Schram, Lenzing’s Head of Global Technical Development. “They bring years of expertise in spandex, while we contribute our innovative cellulosic fibers. What really excites me is how we’re both reimagining material science with a focus on sustainability [1] [2] [3]. “With this yoga collection, we’re not just blending fibers, we’re showing how working together can accelerate the entire industry toward resource-efficient practices [1] [2].”

“We’ve had many brand partners approach us looking for a sustainably made spandex that would help them tell a fully biobased material story,” said Simon Whitmarsh-Knight. “We believe our regen™ BIO Spandex uniquely pairs with Lenzing’s luxurious wood-based fibers [4] to create this perfect sustainable solution. Collaborative partnerships are essential as the textile industry strives for innovative and high-performance solutions across the value chain to meet brand and consumer sustainability objectives.”

regen™ BIO Spandex – From nature to performance fiber

Hyosung TNC will highlight its expanded regen™ BIO Spandex range made of renewable content and inform attendees on the transition of the fibre’s feedstock from corn to sugarcane, which enables lower carbon emissions without sacrificing performance.  The company has joined the VIVE Sustainable Supply Program, to ensure full traceability and transparency from sugarcane farms to fibre production.

“For the first time, the industry will have an integrated supply of bio-based spandex in one region, from raw material to fiber,” said Whitmarsh-Knight. “This means faster market delivery, shorter development times, and a stronger supply chain for partners.”

CREORA® functional textiles – Designed for trends shaping tomorrow

Continuously innovating, Hyosung TNC anticipates what consumers expect from their performance apparel, which includes multi-functional characteristics to keep wearers cool, fresh and comfortable with style.

In addition to its regen™ BIO Spandex range, materials with new performance fibers to include CREORA® Conadu Polyester, offering the soft, natural feel of cotton combined with comfortable stretch, and CREORA® EasyFlex Spandex, that offers a luxurious soft feel, and allows for size inclusivity where one size can fit various body types with lower power and better retention rate for extra comfort will be presented at the show.

DAY 0 and Expert Talks – experts share the latest developments sustainable innovation for a better future

Hyosung TNC is proud to be the sponsor the FFF DAY 0 Sustainability Workshop taking place November 11. Sustainability practitioners will present a pragmatic approach to foundational topics as well as some of the latest updates and developments. Manufacturers will present real-world case studies related to the topics throughout the day. Attendees will participate in round table conversations and interactive activities and will leave with new knowledge to use immediately starting on Day 1 of the Fair.

On Wednesday, November 12, (Day 1) at 2:45 PM – 3:30 PM, Malvina Hoxha, Director US Marketing, Hyosung TNC, and Sharon Perez, Head of Business Development, US, Lenzing Fibers, will present an expert talk titled Plant-Based Solutions in Performance Fabrics: Sugarcane-Based Innovation from Hyosung TNC x Lenzing. As the demand for sustainable textiles grows, brands face the challenge of sourcing bio-based materials that are both innovative and commercially viable. This workshop explores how Hyosung TNC and Lenzing are pioneering a breakthrough with sugarcane-based performance fabrics, establishing a new benchmark in plant-based solutions.

At FFF, Hyosung TNC can be found at booth 538.
